Among this town's most famous attractions is the River Kwai Bridge, the subject of the film “Bridge on the River Kwai”, built by POWs during World War II. Next to the bridge, you will find the Kanchanaburi War Cemetery, the Death Railroad Museum and the JEATH War Museum, all commemorating the story of this site and the city’s role in the war.

Natural world attractions can be seen at the Erawan National Park, where you may explore the Phartat Cave and Erawan Falls. The massive century-old Giant Raintree makes for stunning photo opportunities. At Wat Tham Suea Buddhist temple, you can see a massive golden Buddha. For the kids, at Taweechai Elephant Camp, you can feed and even ride majestic elephants.

Kanchanaburi is a town known for the World War II Death Railway bridge across the River Kwai, as well as for its national parks, museums, historic buildings and natural wonders. The famed Bridge was the subject of an iconic Hollywood film. Just steps away, the Death Railway Museum showcases local military history, while the Kanchanaburi War Cemetery commemorates Burmese POWs who died building the railway. The JEATH War Museum chronicles the history of this region in World War II with artifacts, exhibits, documents, photographs and ephemera. For a more general history of the region, the Ban Kao National Museum displays regional and natural history.

For family-friendly and cultural activities, the Erawan National Park offers cave exploration and waterfalls. ElephantsWorld allows you to get hands-on with these majestic beasts. Alpaca Hill is the first Alpaca breeding farm in Thailand. At the JJ Night Market Kanchanaburi, you can explore dozens of vendor stalls to find souvenirs, gifts, arts and crafts. The Resort Water Park offers a giant activity pool, water slides and splash park fun for all.

DAY 1 : BANGKOK - KANCHANABURI

Pick up from major hotel in Bangkok Downtown Area. Depart to Kanchanaburi province (128 km. to the west of Bangkok)

Visit Thailand-Burma Railway Centre an interactive museum, information and research facility dedicated to presenting the history of the Thailand-Burma Railway. The fully air-conditioned center offers the visitor an educational and moving experience. Visit Allied War Cemetery, resting-place for more than 6,000 Allied prisoners of war (POWs). Visit the world-famous Bridge over the River Kwai, a part of Death Railway constructed by Allied POWs.

Upon arrival at Hintok River Camp, Check-in and have Lunch.

Visit the Hellfire Pass Memorial Museum which is dedicated to those Australians and other Allied Prisoners of War and Asian labourers who suffered and died at Hellfire Pass and elsewhere in the Asia Pacific region during WW2. Walking along the Hellfire Pass Walking Trails and return to Hintok River Camp. Late afternoon get on a mountain bike to visit a village or farm nearby the camp.

DAY 2 : KANCHANABURI

Early morning biking across a hanging bridge to the temple for offering food to monks

Breakfast serve at hotel.
Check out and take a long-tailed boat to get River Kwai Jungle Rafts to visit the ethnic Mon Tribal Village

Depart to River Kwai Resotel. Check in and have Lunch

Evening, Dinner, followed by a 45-minute presentation of Mon Dance.
Overnight : Kanchanaburi
Meal : Breakfast (Hotel) / Lunch / Dinner

 

DAY 3 : KANCHANABURI - BANGKOK

Breakfast. Morning at your own leisure.

Check-out from the hotel

Lunch at local restaurant.

Take a historic ride on Death Railway Train through magnificent scenery, passing over original wooden viaduct constructed by Allied POWs.

Journey back to Bangkok.

Arrive Bangkok and transfer to hotels.
